A Lovely Day Out on Langeland Island
Enjoy the island of Langeland located just south of Funen. A guided coach tour with appropriate stops for guided walks. Beautiful and varied nature, captivating stories and the cosy atmosphere characteristic of Langeland. Some call it hygge.
We'll either meet at Rudkøbing station or another desired spot. From there, we'll take a short city walk in the cosy cobblestone alleys of Rudkøbing. You'll hear about its famous citizens, among which, H.C. Ørsted and Mads Lange.
Afterwards we'll take a coach into the countryside, to take in the beautiful rolling landscape of Langeland, unique among Danish islands with its dolmens and characteristic hill shapes.
After that, we'll drive towards King Humble's tomb and then we'll head on over to Risinge's gorgeous cliffs and exciting history. We'll continue on to the Cold War Museum at Dovn's cliffs, from which, on a bright day, we can catch a glimpse of the islands wild horses striding by.
From the southern tip of the island we'll traverse the countryside up to the idyllic villages surrounding Tranekær castle in the north. Along the way we'll pass by Denmark's last surviving tobacco barn, which has been turned into a mini-museum.
In Tranekær I'll be telling you about the beautiful red castle on the hill and its noble family's history. If you would like to drink a cup of coffee in the castle's lovely horse stable or have a bite to eat on the way, this should be ordered in advance: just ask the office tand we'll take care of it.
A guided tour on Langeland can easily be combined with a tour past the island of Tåsinge. You only have to extend your tour by 2 hours.
