Ærøskøbing - Relaxed and Cosy Walk
If you are fond of old houses, bumpy paving stones, great stories and Danish hygge, let me introduce you to Ærøskøbing's past and present.
I shall take you from house to house, from square to square and from story to story within this idyllic town that simply exudes charm and history, a town that is also known as "The Wedding Town".
I connect all my stories to a great tale about a town inhabited by enterprising merchants, cunning smugglers and quick-witted ratcatchers. Leap from the Viking Age and the Middle Age past the Dukes of Glücksburg to the well-off captains and shipowners of the 19th and 20th centuries living in the most coveted and desirable houses of the town.
A paradise of impacts and impressions, Ærøskøbing also has restaurants and small shops selling handicraft products. And with me as your guide you will get to know the town.
The town walk takes about 2 hours. If you wish to see more of beautiful Ærø, I recommend 3-4 hours or a full day.
