The Count's Feud refers to a Danish civil war 1534-1536 that escalated in the wake of king Frederik 3's death. The question of who should inherit the throne, initiated the feud.

The Count's Feud is named after Count Christoffer of Oldenburg, who supported the restoration of Christian 2. However, the nobility in Jutland wanted Frederik III's son, Christian 3., on the throne.

The nobility won the Civil War, and Christian 3. was instated as king of Denmark.

It was during the Count's Feud that the Northern Jutlander Skipper Clement supported Christian 3. with his peasant army, but all in vain. Skipper Clement was later executed.
