Danebod, Thyra
Thyra Danebod (died c. 958) was the Queen of Gorm the Old.
Gorm the Old built the rune stones in Jelling as a memorial sight for his dead Queen, Thyra, "the Pride of Denmark".
According to the historian, Saxo, Thyra Danebod took the initiative and built the fortifications called Dannevirke in Schleswig-Holstein to prevent the enemies from entering Denmark from the south.
However, historical and archeological studies do not support this statement, which therefore must be considered a myth. Thyra Danebod was, especially in the 1800s, a national symbol, which must be seen in relation to the Schleswig wars.
