Passbook
The passbook was a small book in which the holder of a specific bank account could obtain an overview of the current accound balance. Passbooks no longer excist. Instead bank customers receive bank statements or use online banking.
The passbook showed the customers' balance, interests and amounts withdrawn or deposited. The customer brought the passbook to the bank where the various transactions were registered.
In 2011 Nordea abolished the use of passbooks as the first bank in Denmark.
