Griffenfeld, Peder Schumacher
Peder Griffenfeld (1635-99) was a Danish citizen, who managed to be ennobled and appointed chancellor.
Griffenfeld was one of the key persons behind the Royal Law of 1665. It is the only written autocratic constitution in Europe.
Giffenfeld's bold foreign policy almost cost him his life, when he was accused of high treason and sentenced to death in 1676.
However, Griffenfeld was reprieved and spent his last years in Trondheim in Norway.
