Greenland - A History of Man. Lecture by Ilja

   

A historical overview lecture on human presence in Greenland - from the earliest cultures such as Saqqaq and Dorset, through the Norse settlements and the whaling era, to the colonial period and into modern Greenland.

The lecture can be adapted in length: it can be delivered as a condensed one-hour presentation, extended into a longer session, or divided into two separate lectures, depending on the needs and audience.

About the lecturer
Greenland has been a central part of my professional life for more than 15 years. I have worked as an assistant professor in administrative law and political science at Ilisimatusarfik - the University of Greenland - and have lived and worked in Sisimiut, Maniitsoq, and Nuuk. For five years, I have served as a lecturer and communicator on Greenland aboard Hurtigruten’s expedition cruise ships. My thesis on Greenlandic governance has been published as a book. 
I am interested in
History, society, economy, culture, architecture, geology, flora and fauna.
