Tour manager Albania, Jeppe
I have dragged tourists up and down to Berat Castle, in and out of the gloomy rooms of Hoxha's BunkArt. I have left the family sunbathing on the beaches alongside the coast at Sarandë, while I have explored mountains and lakes at the historical ruins of Butrint. I have been drinking rakija for breakfast and nothing but traditional Albanian fërgesë for the rest of the day.
In other words, I have allowed myself to be absorbed by Albania and everything that this fantastic country has to offer. Culture, society and history.
Greatness, oppression and extreme nationalism have all been major contributors to the small country, we see today.
The violent history of the country and especially the extreme upheaval, it has been to come directly from isolation and rigid communism to Western democracy, is one of the things that has ignited my enormous interest in the Balkans.
That is why I studied Balkan studies at the University of Copenhagen, and I have worked as a tour leader in the area ever since.
Subsequently, I took my masters degree in journalism from the University of Southern Denmark, so I am also trained to be able to convey all kinds of exciting experiences directly into the heads of the lovely people travelling with me.
